Is a Waterford Airport runway extension still viable?

Despite nearly €12 million in public investment, Waterford Airport still doesn’t have regular commercial flights.

In a recent Sky News interview, Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary said the airport lies within the catchment areas of Cork and Dublin, casting doubt on its viability.

Locals are divided, some say the southeast deserves better infrastructure, while others believe it's time to stop pouring money into the project.
